SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPY

FEEDING AND SWALLOWING THERAPY

Feeding and swallowing disorders can affect people of all ages, from infants to seniors. Our feeding and swallowing therapy services are designed to help our clients overcome these challenges and improve their quality of life. Our therapists use a variety of techniques, including oral motor and laryngeal exercises and sensory integration therapy, to help our clients achieve their feeding and swallowing goals.

PEDIATRIC THERAPY

Our pediatric therapy services are designed to help children with various speech and language disorders, including articulation and phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language delays, and fluency disorders. Our therapists use evidence-based practices to develop treatment plans tailored to each child’s unique needs.

ADULT THERAPY
SOCIAL SKILLS THERAPY

Social skills are an essential part of communication and interaction with others. At One Word Away, we offer social skills therapy to help children and adults with social communication disorders. Our therapists use a variety of techniques, including role-playing and social stories, to help our clients improve their social skills and build meaningful relationships.

Our adult therapy services focus on helping adults with speech and language disorders caused by stroke, traumatic brain injury, or neurodegenerative diseases. Our therapists use a variety of techniques and technologies, including cognitive-linguistic therapy, augmentative and alternative communication, and voice therapy.

COGNITIVE THERAPY

Cognitive therapy is a form of therapy that focuses on improving an individual's ability to attend, retrieve word,  problem solving and reason. Working on these types of skills, especially cognition, can help to increase independence and quality of life. Our therapists use a variety of techniques, including cognitive restructuring and problem-solving therapy to strengthening one's ability to reason and retain information.

ACCENT MODIFICATION

Therapy can also focus on accent reduction. If you are a non-native English speaker looking to reduce your accent, our accent modification program is designed to help . Our therapists use a variety of techniques, including auditory discrimination training and speech drills, to help you achieve your goals.

VOICE THERAPY

If you are experiencing voice problems, such as hoarseness or vocal fatigue, our voice therapy services can help. Our therapists use a variety of techniques, including vocal hygiene education and vocal exercises, to help you improve your voice quality and reduce vocal strain.

FLUENCY THERAPY

Fluency disorders, such as stuttering, can be frustrating and isolating. Our fluency therapy services are designed to help our clients improve their fluency and increase their confidence in speaking. Our therapists use a variety of techniques, including stuttering modification and fluency shaping, to help our clients achieve their fluency goals.
